Node-RED on Debian - Alexa Setup Guide

Requirements

• sudo/root access
• Network access for Alexa cloud integration

Installation

1. 1 Update packages: sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y
2. 2 Install Node.js via NodeSource: curl -fsSL https://deb.nodesource.com/setup_20.x | sudo -E bash - && sudo apt-get install -y nodejs
3. 3 Install build tools: sudo apt-get install -y build-essential
4. 4 Install Node-RED globally: sudo npm install -g --unsafe-perm node-red
5. 5 Create a systemd service for Node-RED to run at boot
6. 6 Start Node-RED: node-red
7. 7 Access Node-RED at http://your-server-ip:1880
8. 8 Install Alexa integration node via the palette manager inside Node-RED
